Abstract:
A cylindrical battery according to one embodiment of the present invention is characterized by including: an electrode body in which a positive plate and a negative plate are wound with a separator therebetween; an electrolyte; an outer can that has a bottomed-cylinder shape and that accommodates the electrode body and the electrolyte; and a sealing body. The battery is also characterized in that: the sealing body includes a terminal cap, a valve forming a current blocking mechanism, and a washer interposed between the terminal cap and the valve and having an opening in the center thereof; the washer has, on both surface ends in the thickness direction thereof, a recessed portion formed around the opening, and a flat portion disposed around the recessed portion; and the boundary lines of the recessed portion and the flat portion of each surface of the washer are disposed so as to overlap each other in the thickness direction of the washer.
