Abstract:
A cylindrical lithium secondary battery being excellent in short-circuit resistance, being able to void capacitance reduction due to falling, and being excellent in battery characteristics balance. The cylindrical lithium secondary battery comprises an electrode group consisting of, all rolled up, a band-form anode, a band-form cathode, and a porous heat-resisting layer and a separator interposed between them, wherein the anode includes an anode core material and anode active materials supported on the opposite side thereof, the cathode includes a cathode core material and cathode active materials supported on the opposite side thereof, the electrode group has a hollow portion at the center, a hollow core rod is inserted into the hollow portion, the hollow core rod has a lengthwise slit along its entire length, and the outer diameter A of the hollow core rod and the width B of the slit satisfies 0.1 ≤ B/A ≤ 0.6.
