Abstract:
Disclosed is a cylindrical superconducting joint for connecting sub-cables, comprising: a stainless steel armor; a stainless steel pressure plate; sub-cables of a left bundled cable; sub-cables of a right bundled cable; a copper connecting plate; a stainless steel support; and an indium layer. The stainless steel support provides support to the sub-cables connected by the joint. The sub-cables of the left bundled cable are sequentially placed in recesses of the stainless steel support. Next, the copper connecting plates coated with the indium layers are placed in the recesses. Subsequently, the sub-cables of the right bundled cable are placed in the recesses of the stainless steel support, and the stainless steel pressure plate is welded to the stainless steel support. The stainless steel armor is provided at the outermost side of the joint. The present invention has low resistance and AC power loss, requires less material, and exhibits favorable cooling performance.
