Abstract:
The present invention establishes a non-conventional, novel method for producing D-luciferin and a D-luciferin derivative by a multi-stage production process without using expensive 2-cyano-6-hydroxybenzothiazole. The above is achieved by means of a method for producing D-luciferin and a D-luciferin derivative, wherein D-luciferin or a D-luciferin derivative is produced via a precursor that is a novel substituted diaminodithioether represented by formula (1) (wherein X represents H, OCH3 or OH; and each of Y, Z, and W represents H or a monovalent organic group).
