A damper device according to the present disclosure comprises a first damper including a first elastic body for transmitting torque between an intermediate element and an input element coupled to an engine and a second damper including a second elastic body for transmitting torque between the intermediate element and an output element coupled to a transmission. When there is no transmission of torque between the input element and the output element, the first elastic body, etc. in one of the first and second dampers with greater rigidity or hysteresis is supported with a gap between, e.g., the input element and the intermediate element in a rotational direction, while the second elastic body, etc. in the other of the first and second dampers is positioned in a pre-compressed state between, e.g., the intermediate element and the output element. This allows good reduction of vibrations being transmitted from the engine towards the transmission when torque from the engine side and torque from the transmission side become approximately equal and vibrations of a rotary element in the damper device when torque from the engine side has suddenly decreased.
