Abstract:
This damper is provided with: a rod (2) inserted into a cylinder (1) so as to be capable of moving forward and backward in an axial direction; a piston (3) provided at the front end of the rod (2) and dividing the inside of the cylinder (1) into an extension-side chamber (R1) and a pressure-side chamber (R2); a rod guide (4) provided at the open end of the cylinder (1) and supporting the rod (2); a sub-cylinder (5) provided to the rod guide (4) and forming an annular gap (10) between the sub-cylinder (5) and the cylinder (1); and a sub-piston (6) which is provided on the outer periphery of the rod (2) at a position closer to the base end side than the piston (3), is in contact at the outer periphery thereof with the inner periphery of the cylinder (1), and can move into and out of the annular gap (10).
