Abstract:
A damping system A1 comprises: a dielectric elastomer actuator 1 having a dielectric elastomer layer 11 and a pair of electrode layers 12 that sandwich the dielectric elastomer layer 11; a structure 8 to which the dielectric elastomer actuator 1 is fixed; a converter 4 that converts an input vibration to an electrical signal; and an electrical circuit device 3 that receives the electrical signal from the converter 4, that causes the dielectric elastomer actuator 1 to generate a vibration for attenuating the vibration, and that imparts drive voltage to the pair of electrode layers 12. Due to this configuration, the vibrations of an object can be damped.
