Abstract:
In order to enable an interval value matrix containing elements expressed as interval values to be separated into factor matrices with good precision, a parameter estimation unit 20 estimates a factor matrix A and a factor matrix B so as to optimize a target function expressed by including: for each element xij corresponding to a scalar value, a probability that the element xij will take that scalar value, the probability being expressed using an estimated value of the element xij estimated from the factor matrix A and the factor matrix B; and, for each element xij corresponding to an interval value, a probability that the element xij will take that interval value, the probability being expressed using an estimated value of the element xij estimated from the factor matrix A and the factor matrix B.
