Abstract:
This data augmentation method includes alternately carrying out first optimization processing (S11) to optimize a plurality of parameters of a DNN, and second optimization processing (S12) to optimize a hyperparameter for each sample for data augmentation processing. In the first optimization processing: the DNN is caused to predict a first augmentation label from a first augmentation sample obtained by subjecting a first sample included in a training dataset to data augmentation processing; a first error function for the first augmentation label and a first correct answer label of the first sample is calculated, and a plurality of parameters are updated on the basis of the first error function. In the second optimization processing: a second sample is acquired from an evaluation dataset having a distribution similar to that of a test dataset; the DNN of which the plurality of parameters have been updated is caused to predict a second label from the second sample; a second error function of the second label and a second correct answer label of the second sample is calculated; and the hyperparameter is updated on the basis of a gradient obtained by differentiating the second error function with respect to the hyperparameter.
