Abstract:
A data backup method, applied to a storage system. The storage system presets a default number of backups, and the default number of backups is used to produce N data copies for first data to be written comprised in a first write data request generated by a first instance; the N data copies are stored in the storage system, where N is an integer greater than 1. The method comprises: obtaining adjustment settings for the default number of backups; obtaining a second write data request generated by a second instance; and according to the adjustment settings of the default number of backups, producing M data copies in a storage layer of the storage system for second data to be written, where M is a positive integer less than N. As such, the number of data copies can be reduced, storage resource wastage can be avoided, and the writing rate can be increased.
