Title:
DATA COMPRESSION DEVICE, DATA COMPRESSION METHOD, AND PROGRAM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/118954
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A data compression device is provided with a receiving unit, a generation unit, a selection unit, and a compression unit. The receiving unit receives a plurality of input data that are input in a time-series. The generation unit generates a plurality of initial point candidates which fall within a threshold with respect to deviation from an initial point datum, which is an input datum that has been input at a first point in time. Using the initial point candidates, an end-point datum which is an input datum that has been input at a second point in time, and intermediate data which are input data that have been input at points in time between the first point in time and the second point in time, the selection unit selects from the initial point candidates the initial point candidate that results in a greater number, in comparison to the other initial point candidates, of points of intermediate data that fall within the threshold with respect to deviation in an approximation between the respective initial point candidate and an end point datum. The compression unit outputs the selected initial point candidate and end-point datum as output data in which the initial point datum, the intermediate data, and the end-point datum have been compressed.
