Abstract:
The present invention relates to a data input device and a data input method. The data input device of the present invention includes a sensing unit and a control unit. The sensing unit is arranged on a casing of a terminal for an electronic device to have a predetermined sensing zone. The sensing unit senses a horizontal pressing action of a finger put on a reference position in the sensing zone in a predetermined radial direction and generates a first direction input signal, and senses a vertical pressing action performed in a predetermined direction at the state where the finger is put on the reference position and generates a second direction input signal. The control unit judges a horizontal pressing direction or a vertical pressing direction of the finger by the first direction input signal and the second direction input signal, extracts data allocated to the relevant radial direction and pressing position from a memory, and inputs the extracted data.
