Abstract:
Provided are a data processing device and a data processing method which can simplify a hardware configuration and improve convenience by means of a new technique. The data processing device is provided with a commodity ordering function for ordering a commodity and/or a commodity stock management function for managing the stock of a commodity, and is used by a plurality of shops. The data processing device is provided with a selected commodity name data generation unit. The selected commodity name generation unit generates selected commodity name data so that selected commodity name data, which is generated on the basis of shop ID data including a first shop ID and keyword data including a first keyword, is different from selected commodity name data generated on the basis of shop ID data including a second shop ID, which is different from the first shop ID, and the keyword data including the first keyword.
