Abstract:
Provided are a data storage device that can prevent corruption and reductions in reliability, etc., in data that is not to be updated, a vehicle-mounted data storage device, and a data storage method. The data storage device (1) treats one or a plurality of storage blocks from amongst a plurality of storage blocks in a flash memory (20) as erasure-prohibited blocks, and does not subject the erasure-prohibited blocks to data erasing processing. The data storage device (1) treats the other storage blocks of the plurality as erasure-permitted blocks. The data storage device (1) subjects a erasure-permitted block to data writing, and when the erasure-permitted block is full of data due to writing, reads the valid data from the erasure-permitted block, copies the same to the next erasure-permitted block, and performs block updating processing in which the written storage block is switched for the next block. Subsequent to completion of the updating processing, a processor (10) subjects the erasure-permitted block that is full of data to erasing processing.
