Abstract:

The present application provides a data transmission method and apparatus. The method comprises: a terminal device sends a status report to a network device, the status report comprising first indication information, and the first indication information being used for indicating that a link exception occurs to a first cell; and the terminal device receives first data from the network device on a second cell, the first data being data that has failed to be transmitted on the first cell. The first cell is a cell in a primary cell group and the second cell is a cell in a secondary cell group, or the first cell is a cell in a secondary cell group and the second cell is a cell in a primary cell group. On the basis of the solution, when an exception occurs to a cell in a secondary cell group, data that has failed to be transmitted on the cell in the secondary cell group is retransmitted by means of a cell in a primary cell group, or when an exception occurs to a cell in a primary cell group, data that has failed to be transmitted on the cell in the primary cell is retransmitted by means of a cell in a secondary cell group, so that the data transmission efficiency can be improved.
