Abstract:
A DC current breaker according to the embodiment includes a plurality of DC transmission lines, a first DC bus, a second DC bus, an interruption and consumption unit, a commutation circuit, and a control unit. Each of DC transmission lines branches, at a predetermined branch point, to a first auxiliary line provided with a first mechanical contact and a second auxiliary line provided with a second mechanical contact. The plurality of first auxiliary lines are connected to the first DC bus. The plurality of second auxiliary lines are connected to the second DC bus. The interruption and consumption unit has a semiconductor breaker capable of interrupting a current flowing through the DC transmission line and an energy-consuming element that consumes energy at least between the two ends of the semiconductor breaker. The commutation circuit commutates the current flowing through the DC transmission line to the interruption and consumption unit. The control unit controls the first mechanical contact, the second mechanical contact, the semiconductor breaker, and the commutation circuit.
