Abstract:
A decoder apparatus, which is operative to decode data received from each of a plurality of users, comprises: a repetitive decoding unit that repetitively decodes the data until no errors are detected in the decoding result; an error detecting unit that performs the error detection process for the decoding result each time the repetitive decoding unit performs the decoding process once and that, if any error is detected, then outputs, to the repetitive decoding unit, a signal indicating to the effect that the error has been detected in the decoding result; and a decoding order control unit that estimates, for each of the plurality of users, a decoding completion time, which is a time required for no errors to be detected by the error detecting unit, in the decoding result of the data received from the user, and that assigns ordinal levels to the respective users in an order from the shortest to the longest in the estimated decoding completion time. The repetitive decoding unit sequentially decodes the data, which have been received from the users, in descending order from the user having the highest ordinal level assigned by the decoding order control unit.
