Abstract:
This deformation detection sensor for a sealed secondary battery comprises: a polymer matrix layer 3 attached to an exterior body 21 among members constituting a battery 2; a casing 11 sandwiching the exterior body 21 together with the polymer matrix layer 3; a spacer layer 6 sandwiched, along with the polymer matrix layer 3, between the exterior body 21 and the casing 11; and a detection unit 4 detecting a change in the external field arising in response to a deformation of the polymer matrix layer 3. In a planar view as viewed from the casing 11, when C is the surface area on a placement surface F3 of the exterior body 21 for attaching the polymer matrix layer 3 and the spacer layer 6, A is the contact surface area between the placement surface F3 and the polymer matrix layer 3, and B is the contact surface area between the placement surface F3 and the spacer layer 6, the relationship 0.15 ≤ (A + B)/C ≤ 1 is established.
