Abstract:
Provided is a deformed wire which is useful for improving the sealing properties of a pressure ring. The deformed wire is for a pressure ring, and has variation in the width dimensions of no more than 5μm and variation in the thickness dimensions of no more than 5μm, as evaluated in a range of 1m in the longitudinal direction. It is preferable for the amount of horizontal bend in the width direction, as evaluated in a range of 1m in the longitudinal direction, to be no more than 10mm. It is more preferable for the amount of horizontal bend in the width direction, as evaluated in a range of 20mm in the longitudinal direction, to be no more than 1.0μm. It is preferable for the glossiness of each surface in the longitudinal direction to be at least 150. It is more preferable for the deformed wire to be formed from martensite-based stainless steel.
