Abstract:
Disclosed in the present invention is a DEM alluvial fan extraction method based on ray tracing. The method comprises: making an inverse terrain DEM on the basis of a DEM, and performing projection; on the basis of a ray tracing method, using a set solar elevation angle to respectively solve, in four directions, mountain body shadows of the projected inverse terrain DEM, and re-classifying results according to whether the mountain body shadows are visible, so as to divide a mountain body and alluvial fan mixed portion; using the set solar elevation angle to perform ray tracing on the projected inverse terrain DEM again, so as to divide a mountain body portion; and performing overlay analysis on the mountain body and alluvial fan mixed portion and the mountain body portion, so as to extract an alluvial fan. The present invention can realize automatic, quick, complete and accurate identification of small and medium-sized alluvial fans under various geographic and geomorphic conditions, thereby effectively assisting in geomorphic mapping and significantly reducing the labor burden; and the present invention uses a DEM as basic data, is widely applied, involves an efficient and accurate algorithm, and is of great value to both geomorphic research on arid regions and land utilization construction.
