Abstract:
A deodorizer (A), provided with: a body case (C) having opening intakes (11) and an outlet (42) which open outwards, and having a wind channel (R) communicating from the intakes (11) to the outlet (42); a blower fan (44) internally provided in the body case (C), the blower fan (44) introducing indoor air into the wind channel (R) extending from the intakes (11) to the outlet (42); a deodorizing means (62), provided partway along the wind channel (R), through which the introduced air can pass; a heating means (63) disposed so as to face a region representing at least a part of the deodorizing means (62), the heating means (63) heating the deodorizing means (62) at 200°C or below; and a controller (47) for controlling the operation of the blower fan (44) and the heating means (63). The deodorizing means (62) is obtained by forming, on a carrier, an adsorbent which does not cause the adsorbed substance to oxidatively decompose and a catalytic component for causing the adsorbed substance to oxidatively decompose, and is prepared so that the rate of conversion of alcohol into acetic acid by the catalytic component is 15% or less on average across the entire deodorizing means (62).
