Abstract:
Disclosed is a deodorizing agent which can deodorize unpleasant odors such as body odors, breath odors, odors of pet animals, smoke odors and food waste effectively. The deodorizing agent can be used in combination with foods, beverages, cosmetics, fragrances and the like to deodorize the odors of these products. Specifically disclosed is a deodorizing agent comprising an ω-methylthioalkylisothiocyanate such as 6-methyl- thiohexylisothiocyanate. The ω-methylthioalkylisothio- cyanate may be chemically synthesized or collected from a naturally occurring plant such as a plant belonging to the family Cruciferae, Capparaceae, Caricaceae, Resedaceae or Tropaeolaceae.
