Abstract:

Wood grain/vessel grooves of natural wood are reproduced on the surface of a decorative material by a stepped groove (100) comprising nested three-stepped embossing grooves (110, 120, 130). The respective grooves are designed to become deeper toward the interior thereof and eccentrically disposed in a longitudinal direction. Convexed bank portions (140) are formed in the interior of the grooves by raising linearly the bottoms of the grooves. An embossing printing plate for processing the stepped groove is prepared based on a wood grain/vessel cross-sectional pattern which is inputted by using natural wood. A three-dimensional virtual vessel groove is obtained through operation using only information on a planar cross-sectional pattern replaced by an approximate oval model, a predetermined depth is set, and a line connecting equal depth points is obtained for each set depth, whereby a contour diagram of the embossing grooves (110, 120, 130) can be obtained. The embossing printing plate can be prepared by preparing each patterning mask in which each line connecting equal depth points constitutes a contour line, and repeatedly performing patterning processing for a printing material using each mask sequentially in the order of increasing depth.
