Abstract:
New derivative of anthraquinone of general formula (I), where A, B, D are, simultaneously or independently, groups -NHCOR1, -NHCOAlk, -OCOAlk, -OCOR1, -OH, -OAlk, -NHAlk, H, in which R1 are groups (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), (g), (h), (i), (j), (k), R4 are groups (l), (m), (n), (o), (p), where Alk = C1-C18; R5 are groups (q), (r), (s), where Alk = C1-C18; R6 is hydrogen or Alk = C1-C8; R7 - Alk = C1-C8; R2, R3 are groups -Alk, -OAlk, -SAlk, where Alk = C1-C8 or R3-H, as a dichroic dye with negative dichroism for a liquid-crystal. A liquid-crystal material comprising a liquid-crystal matrix and a dichroic dye, the latter being at least one of the derivatives of anthraquinone of generale formula (I) in a quantity of 1-15 per cent by weight. An electro-optical device with a dichroic working body (1) made of the said liquid-crystal material included between transparent plates (2) on the internal sides of which electrodes (3) are placed provided with conductors (6) connected to a power source.
