Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a descaling agent composition for food industry that has excellent ability to dissolve scale mainly composed of iron oxide or iron hydroxide, that produces no effect on stainless steel quality or rubber quality and that excels in stability in storage. [Means of Solution] A descaling agent composition for food industry, comprising the following (a) to (c) components as active ingredients at the following ratios based on the entire composition, wherein pH (JIS Z-8802:1984 "pH Measurement Methods") of 1 wt. % dilute aqueous solution of the composition is within a range less than 3 at 25°C: (a) an organic acid 5 to 60 wt.%; (b) L-ascorbic acid and/or erythorbic acid 15 to 80 wt.%; (c) an urea compound 0.01 to 6 wt.%, and a method for using the descaling agent composition.
