Abstract:
Provided is a descaling liquid that does not leave hexavalent chromium after carrying out an electrolytic descaling treatment. The descaling liquid is an aqueous solution used for an electrolytic descaling treatment for stainless steel, and contains: at least one electrolytic solution selected from the group consisting of a neutral salt solution, dilute sulfuric acid, and nitric acid; and at least one chelating agent selected from the group consisting of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid and nitrilotriacetic acid. The ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid is at least one selected from the group consisting of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid salt, and hydrates thereof. The nitrilotriacetic acid is at least one selected from the group consisting of nitrilotriacetic acid, nitrilotriacetic acid salt, and hydrates thereof.
