Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of automatically determining a detection line. A detection line determination device 1 determines a virtual detection line established on a road in a road image including the road, the detection line being used to detect the passage of an object moving on the road by said object straddling the detection line. The detection line determination device 1 comprises: an extraction unit 12 that extracts a plurality of contour lines indicating a contour of the road in the road image; a calculation unit 13 that calculates, as detection line candidates, lines connecting points on each of two contour lines from among the plurality of contour lines extracted by the extraction unit 12; and a determination unit 14 that determines the detection line on the basis of the detection line candidates calculated by the calculation unit 13. The calculation unit 13 may calculate a detection line candidates on the basis of the distance between points on each of two contour lines. The points on each of the two contour lines may be points sampled on the contour lines.
