Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible to satisfactorily determine a mode ratio in collimated light in a double mode. A light intensity distribution acquisition unit acquires a light intensity distribution of collimated light that includes fundamental mode and primary mode components. A determination processing unit determines a mode ratio on the basis of the slope of a curve in a section of the light intensity distribution where the distance from a peak value of light intensity increases, on the side of the distribution where the peak value is present, centered on the optical axis of the collimated light. The present invention thereby makes it possible to satisfactorily determine the mode ratio in collimated light in a double mode, to pick out non-standard items without the use of expensive parts, and to ensure the communication quality of an optical communication system.
