Abstract:

Efficient determination of the value of adjustment for the recording position variation in the horizontal scanning direction during printing to form a dot on a printing medium by ejecting an ink droplet from a nozzle. The value of adjustment for reducing the dot forming position variation in the horizontal scanning direction during printing to form a dot on a printing medium while performing the horizontal scanning by means of a printer having monochrome nozzles for ejecting ink droplets of respective different colors is determined. A first adjustment value is selected from among first adjustment candidate values by using a first position variation inspection pattern. A second adjustment value is selected from among second adjustment candidate values selected from the vicinity of the first adjustment value by using a second position variation inspection pattern different from the first one.
