Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for adjusting the front-back position of an automobile headrest, comprising: an upper body; a lower body; a base member inserted and installed so as to be able to move back and forth between the upper body and the lower body; a pole which is rotatably installed on the lower body and selectively engages with one of a plurality of gear teeth of the latch gear, wherein the movement and rotation of the pole are guided by the pole operation hole; a release plate which is rotatably installed on the base member and rotates the pole to a release position when the base member moves to the forwardmost position; and a return spring which is connected between the upper body and the headrest mounting portion and constantly applies a restoring force that moves the base member rearward. Therefore, this device is advantageous for slimming the headrest, the pole is prevented from breaking free due to a downward impact while the automobile is in motion, and the headrest does not move to the rearmost position and becomes re-fixed at a more forward position when the pole breaks free due to collision inertia, and thus neck injuries to occupants can be mitigated.
