Abstract:
Container consisting of a bottom (1), in principal comprising a pallet, and a cylindrical member (2) standing thereon and a bag (3) arranged therein. In the bottom there is a hole (13) sealed by a door (14). When the door (14) is pulled out the bag (3) is pressed down into the opening and when the door is pushed in the bag will be perforated after which the contents can be dosed to a desired degree. The cylindrical member (2) of the container consists of a straight piece of board, which has been perforated at its ends. Moreover, at the joint there is arranged an interior plate profile provided with bolts extending through the holes to an outer plate profile and through holes therein, after which nuts press the two plate profiles against each other.

Claims:
PATENT CLAIMS
1. A device at a container of the type comprising a bottom and a cylindrical member of e.g. board, cardboard or the like and placed on the bottom more or less lossely, characterized in that the cylinder consists of a disc jointed by a clamping means consisting of an inner and an outer plate profile, which are pressed against each other by a number of screw joints distributed along the profiles.
2. The device of claim 1, characterized in that the jointed ends of the board are provided with holes corresponding to the screw joints so that the screw joints also extend through the two board ends.
3. The device of any one of the^preceding claims, characte¬ rized in that the screw joints comprise bolts attached to the inner plate profile and cooperating nuts arranged on the out side of the other plate profile.
4. The device of any one of the preceding claims, characte¬ rized in that a plastic bag is disposed in the container to fill out this and to enclose the stored or transported material and that the bottom comprises a recess that is closed by means of a door which is made so that it can perforate the part of the bag when being pulled out and then pushed in, said bag being pressed down into the recess by the contents when the door is pulled out.
5. The device of claim 4, characterized in that the door is provided with a flange directed obliquely downwards and in¬ wards or an additional plate in order to prevent material run¬ ning out through the opening from being thrown out laterally.
Description:
DEVICE AT A CONTAINER

This invention relates to the type of container including a bottom which can consist of e.g. a pallet and a more or less loose tubular member standing thereon and consisting of board or the like, which tubular me beT is preferably cylindrical and, even if it is standing loosely per se on its bottom, is preven¬ ted from moving laterally on this by some type of fixations and is preferably also prevented from tipping relative to the bottom by some suitable means. Such a container is e.g. de¬ scribed in Swedish application 138/70. This container has above all functioned as a disposable container as the material is relatively cheap in relation to the costs of return freights. The cylinder of the container has been made by jointing a piece of board to a cylinder by nailing or fixing. This forming of the board to a cylinder by nailing or fixing results in a relatively expensive equipment for the manufacture of the container. This has the effect, in its turn, that substantially only big manu¬ facturers, who can justify the investments in equipment for nailing, have been able to use the container. If this problem could be eliminated the container of the invention might be used considerably more, and it is desired in this connection, also, that the container might be used not only as a disposable container but also be " easily dismantled to its original com¬ ponents, i.e. a bottom and a board slab that can be transported in parts or be stored in this form. This problem is solved in accordance with the invention in such a way that the board is jointed by means of two plate profiles, one of which has been provided with welded screws or bolts which extend in jointing through holes in the ends of the board, after which a correspond¬ ing profile provided with holes is placed on the outside of the container and the profiles are pressed together with nuts and the fixed screws on the inner plate profile. If desired, the screws can of course be placed on the inside instead, but by placing the joint straight in front of a corner of the general¬ ly square bottom plate the outer plate profile or nuts will not

be disturbed. The edges of the plate profiles are preferably adapted so that they engage the board straight in front of each other. A strong and stable attachment of the board is obtained by the clamping force exerted by the plate profiles and the fact, of course, that the holes in the board are connected by means of the screws, and this will ensure an even distribution of forces at the ends of the board slab so that there will be a minimum risk of its damage.

As is easily realized it is simple, by loosening screws and removing the plate profiles, to reduce the package again to a bottom and a plane disc which can be easily stored or transported if it is e.g. desired to utilize the containers for transport of bulk material, e.g. corn.

For transport of corn, sand, cement and such more finely divided products the above container has for a long time been combined with a plastic bag placed therein, which is relatively thin, as it is in principle only a seal of the package. It is therefore suggested in a further development of the invention, in order to facilitate handling of this type of container also in this case, that the bottom of the container, which general¬ ly consists of a pallet or a device similar to a pallet, is proveded with an opening in which a sliding door is arranged. When the sliding door is drawn out the plastic bag will sink down into the opening by the weight of the material, and by pushing in the door it is possible to cut off or break the plastic bag at the opening so that the container can be easily emptied without more complicated tipping means.

The invention will be described below more in detail with reference to the illustrative example shown in the drawings in the form of an exploded view.

The container shown in the drawing comprises a bottom, which in its entirety has been designated by 1. On this bottom a cylinder 2 is standing, in which a bag 3 is arranged, and in the bag the transported or stored material is placed. The cylin- der 2 consists of a piece of board which has been bent to a cylinder and has then been put together in this position. The

two ends of the board have been jointed by providing these with holes 5 which overlap each other when the board has been rolled up to a cylinder. Bolts attached to a plate profile 7 extend through these holes, said plate profile being arranged on the inside of the joint along this. At the outside of the joint there is arranged another profile 8, which is provided with holes 9 corresponding to the bolts 6. The profile 8 is thereafter pressed against the inner profile by means of nuts 10. In addition to assisting in holding the board together to a cylinder the plate profiles also prevent damage to the ends of the board both from the inside and from the outside.

The bottom 1 of the container is in principle a pallet, on the loading plane 11 of which the cylinder 2 as well as the bag 3 and the contents are resting. In order to prevent the movement of the cylinder 2 on this plane laterally there is arranged a guide inside the cylinder in the form of a circular edge 12 around the cylinder. By giving the flange 12 a sufficient height the cylinder 2 can also be prevented from tipping laterally relative to the bottom 1. As is apparent from Fig. 1 a hole or an opening 13 is provided in the loading plane 11. This opening is closed on the underside by means of a plate door that can be drawn out. This plate door 14 is pointed at its front end so that it can be drawn out, the bag being pressed down into the hole 13, after which the bag can be cut to be broken, when the door is pushed in again. When the door is then opened the material will run out to a desired extent. There is a guide plate or guide flange 15 on the underside of the door 14, which prevents the material to be tapped from being thrown out lateral¬ ly.
