Provided in the present application are a device control method and an electronic device, which can improve the interaction efficiency and the interaction experience between a user and a second electronic device. The method is applied to a first electronic device or a component (e.g., a chip system) capable of supporting the first electronic device to implement a function, wherein the first electronic device performs operation control on content displayed on a second electronic device. The method comprises: acquiring a first touch point, and according to fact that the first touch point belongs to a first touch area, performing, by using a first mode, operation control on a second electronic device in any area of a first control interface of a first electronic device; and acquiring a second touch point, and according to the fact that the second touch point belongs to a second touch area, performing, by using a second mode, operation control on the second electronic device in any area of the first control interface.
