The present application provides a device control method and an electronic device. The method comprises: when a first electronic device receives a first audio, determining whether the first audio comprises a first wake-up word; and when it is determined that the first audio comprises the first wake-up word, and the first electronic device has the highest response priority among a plurality of electronic devices, waking up the first electronic device to send a first inhibitory instruction to a second electronic device, wherein the plurality of electronic devices comprise the first electronic device and the second electronic device, the plurality of electronic devices are associated with the first wake-up word, the response priority represents the priority of responding to the first wake-up word, and the first inhibitory instruction is used for instructing to not respond to the received first wake-up word. The described method improves the accuracy of a user voice wake-up device in a scenario in which the same wake-up word is shared among multiple devices. In the method, the first electronic device and the second electronic device may be artificial intelligence devices, and the method may be applied to artificial intelligence scenes, such as smart home scenes, whole-house intelligent panel scenes, etc.
