Abstract:
The present invention concerns a device (30) for cutting a safety belt (10), the cutting device (30) comprising a housing (32), a passage (34) passing through said housing and making it possible to mount the cutting device (30) on the belt (10) that is to be cut, and means (42) for cutting the belt (10) located inside the housing, the cutting device (30) being characterised in that the cutting means (42) comprise a wire (44) and means (46) for heating this wire. The present invention also concerns a method for cutting a safety belt (10), the method being characterised in that it consists of using a wire (44) when it is hot in order to cut the belt (10) inside a housing (32).
