Abstract:
A device for decomposing an organic halogen compound in a thermal plasma which is produced by irradiating with a microwave a gas containing an organic halogen compound, wherein a mist separator for separating and removing oil components mixed in the organic halogen compound is disposed downstream a cylinder storing therein the organic halogen compound to thereby prevent pipeline contamination and production of by-products. The cylinder is immersed in a hot water in a temperature-controlled tank and a saturated steam temperature in the cylinder is kept constant to thereby keep a jetting pressure constant, minimize variations in volumetric flow rate of the organic halogen compound, and stabilize plasma continuously over an extended time.
