Abstract:
This device for detecting the position of a mobile body is installed at a railway station or a rail yard (a mobile body facility) at which a plurality of trains T (mobile bodies) can be placed on standby and includes one or more fixed wireless stations 7 that communicate wirelessly with on-board wireless stations (mobile body wireless stations) mounted to the trains T. A radio wave transmitted from an on-board wireless station is received by at least one fixed wireless station 7, the arrival direction (a radio wave arrival angle θ) is calculated, and the calculated radio wave arrival angle θ is used to identify the position of a train T. The device for detecting the position of a mobile body makes it possible to identify the position of a mobile body (a train or the like) prior to the start of movement thereof.
