Abstract:

A device for diluting a viscous substance is provided in which the viscous substance, even when highly viscous, is reduced into small fragments and, hence, the frequency of contact between the viscous substance and a diluent is heightened. This device is therefore advantageous for efficiently diluting a viscous substance with a diluent. The device includes: a viscous-substance feed part (27) which feeds a viscous substance to a dilution chamber (20); a rotor (3) which has been rotatably disposed in the dilution chamber (20) and with which the viscous substance fed to the dilution chamber (20) is reduced into a plurality of small fragments (92) by means of rotation; and a diluent feed part (28) which feeds a diluent, e.g., water vapor, to the dilution chamber (20) so that the diluent comes into contact with the small fragments (92) formed by the rotation of the rotor (3).
