Description:
A device for emergency activation of locks The invention concerns a device for emergency activation of locks, especially of new generation car locks equipped with internally milled keys.

A device known from the US patent description US 5276951, for emergency opening of cars is a manual device containing a cylindrical housing including threaded main shank, which comprises a frontal part with elastic catches, that can be radially tightened in order to be inserted into a lock hole.

Thereafter, the caches go back to the primary position catching the internal hoop of lock's cylinder. The other part of the device is moveable within the main shank and comprises a blocking head, that holds catches in a position catching the lock's hoop. Though rotation of a nut situated on a main shank, it is withdrawn and the internal drum is withdrawn by force from the lock's cylinder. The device has a complicated structure and the process of car opening is a disassembly process, leading to destruction of the lock.

Known is also a device comprising a tightener composing a housing with internally moving mandrel, at which end an imitation of new generation car key with milled straight grooves is situated. Those grooves are equipped at the beginning with single catch that plays a role of position edge finder of pawl plates situated inside a drum located in a cylinder. Individual pawl plates are located symmetrically and alternately on both sides of the cylinder, whereby every pawl plate is supported by a spring. After inserting a device into a lock's hole, the mandrel interacts by means of a tightener with a surface of individual pawl plates that interact with a car key. Through that action, all pawl plates should be equally positioned, which enables drum's revolution in a cylinder-that is opening or closing a car. The device makes it possible to open or close a car without damaging the lock, but the process itself is very labour-consuming, requires a lot of trials, as all pawl plates have to be positioned and kept simultaneously in right position. Apart from that, prolonged use of the device influences the wear of pawl plate surfaces interacting with the key.

The object of the invention is to construct a device for emergency activation of car lock, which would eliminate known inconvenience. The device would have a simple structure and would function reliably in case of a car key loss.

Simultaneously, the object of the invention is to shape the parts of the device in the way providing its safe and prolonged use, whereby opened locks retain full working ability.

According to the present invention, the device comprises two co-operating parts in form of a tightener and a guide formed in a final part correspondingly to the structure of a lock.

The concept of the invention consists in that the device comprises the tightener with a leading gap in its middle part, along which the drivers are attached symmetrically on both sides. Through the leading gap between drivers slides the guide provided with a handle and, in its final part, with followers situated symmetrically on one plane on both sides of a guide, whereby the followers situated on one side of the guide are displaced relatively to the followers on the other side of the guide by half-distance between consecutive followers. The followers have a shape of teeth, which transverse distance between their crests is smaller than a length size of the leading gap, and a lengthwise spacing of individual followers on each side of a guide, their number as well as width and the spacing of drivers are suitable to the structure of activated lock.

The embodiment of the device for emergency activation of car locks of new generation equipped with internally milled keys has been described below with reference to the drawings, on which fig. 1 represents the device from the side-view, and fig. 2 represents the device in A-A cross-section.

The device for emergency activation of car locks comprises the tightener 1 including a leading gap 2, along which the drivers 3 and 4 are attached symmetrically on both sides. Through the leading gap 2 between drivers 3 and 4 slides a flat guide 5 of rectangular cross-section, provided in its final part with evenly arranged followers 6 and 7, situated symmetrically on one plane on both sides of the guide 5, whereby the followers 7 are displaces relatively to the followers 6 by a half-distance between consecutive followers 6. Followers 6 and 7 are teeth-shaped and the transverse distance between teeth-crests is smaller than the length size of the leading gap 2, and their number and lengthwise spacing of individual followers on each side of the guide 5, as well as width and driver's 3 and 4 spacing are suitable to the structure of the urgently activated lock not displayed on the drawing.

The drivers 3 and 4 are inserted into a hole of urgently activated lock.

Thereafter the guide 5 is inserted through the leading gap 2. Through transverse moves of the guide 5 within the leading gap 2, a pressure of followers 6 is applied simultaneously on all pawls located in a drum on one side of the cylinder.

Applied pressure causes the pawls to move into an extreme position, in which they are held by a cylinder's edge as the tightener rotates partially.

Keeping the effects of the rotation, the guide 5 is moved within the leading gap 2 in an opposite direction, through which the follower 7 applies simultaneous pressure on all pawls placed in a drum on the opposite side of the cylinder moving them to an extreme position. Consequently, the pawls are drawn into a drum, through which the drum is turned due to continued rotation of the tightener 1, which makes it possible to open a car. The followers 6 and 7 apply a pressure on lower parts of pawls not damaging the surfaces that directly interact with the key through which the full efficiency of urgently activated lock is sustained.

The device is for emergency activation of lock according to the invention has a compact and simple structure and provides utility value while applied. It solves a problem of prolonged use of the device without damaging the lock and enhances the operating precision.

The object of the invention can be applied where locks need to be urgently activated, especially in case when cars have a central lock as well as in order to exchange ignition switch which requires rotating it.
