The disclosed device for attaching an automobile to a towing vehicle allows an automobile containing occupants to be evacuated from an area which is under fire, contaminated, or threatened by fire. Said device comprises tow cables attached at one end to the body of the tow vehicle, on which is also mounted a colter and towing winch. A lever is attached to the colter, said lever bearing a pulley block and comprising terminal checking devices for the cables. Each of these devices has a through linear groove on its lower portion and, inside, a nose clamp for the other end of the cable which can be attached, as well as moved along and rotated about a longitudinal axis. The cables are freed from the checking devices once said cables have been fastened and tightened by varying the dimensions of the groove and the diameter of the clamp and cable. The ends of the cables are attached to the hooks of the pulley for greater pulling force.
