Abstract:
Provided is a device (1) for identifying coin-shaped identification objects (2) that is able to identify coin-shaped identification objects quickly. This device (1) for identifying coin-shaped detection objects identifies the authenticity of multiple types of detection objects (2), as well as whether the detection objects are in good condition or not. When the signal level of coil output signals (SG11, SG12) is equal to or greater than a threshold value (th), a control unit (29) obtains the signal value of the coil output signals (SG11, SG12) and identifies a detection object (2). In addition, in the direction in which the detection objects (2) pass, the thickness of a core body (11) on which detection coils (9, 10) are wound is less than the thickness of the core body (11) when the bottom value (B11) of the signal level of coil output signal (SG11) and the peak value (P12) of the signal level of coil output signal (SG12) are identical, said bottom value (B11) of the signal level of coil output signal (SG11) being the bottom value when a plurality of the detection objects (2) having the largest outer diameter, the greatest thickness, and the lowest electrical resistivity among the multiple types of detection objects (2) to be detected pass through the core body (11) continuously with no interval between the detection objects, and said peak value (P12) of the signal level of coil output signal (SG12) being the peak value when detection objects (2) having the smallest outer diameter, the least thickness, and the highest electrical resistivity pass through the core body (11).
