Abstract:
A device for improving the excitation efficiency of a superconducting closed coil, belonging to the field of excitation of superconducting closed coils. The device comprises a segment of superconducting tape connected to an excitation superconducting coil, the superconducting tape comprises a conductive layer, a superconducting layer and a substrate, and the conductive layer is configured to have a pattern structure for blocking a current from passing therethrough. The conductive layer is single-layered or multiple-layered. The material of the conductive layer is copper and/or silver. The material of the superconducting layer is REBCO. The device further comprises a buffer layer, and the buffer layer is made of a dielectric material and is substantially insulated. The pattern structure comprises a geometric shape, preferably a slot. The slot is configured in the plane of the conductive layer, and the length of the slot is the same as or less than the width of the substrate. The slot is configured in the plane of the conductive layer, and the depth of the slot is the same as or less than the thickness of the conductive layer. The device excites a closed superconducting coil by means of an external power supply or a flux pump. An insulating material or a material having a weak conductive property covers the surface of the device. The device improves the excitation efficiency of superconducting closed coils in a stable and efficient manner.
