Title:
DEVICE FOR ISOLATING A TEST GAS PRESENT IN AN ISOLATION SPACE FROM A OPERATING SPACE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2000027478
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device, especially a piece of clothing (1), such as a glove, which is provided for isolating a test gas present in an isolation space (11) from a gas, generally air, present in a operating space (13). The inventive device comprises at least one inner layer (2, 2a) which faces the operating space (13) and which can be optionally arranged on the side of the body. The device also comprises an outer layer (3, 3a) which faces the isolation space (11). The inner (2, 2a) or outer layer (3, 3a) is comprised of a material which is essentially impermeable for the test gas, for example hypalon3. A first set of means is provided for pressurizing the space (12) between the inner layer (2, 2a) and the outer layer (3, 3a) with a purge gas, especially with an inert gas such as nitrogen. A second set of means is provided for the, in particular, continuous testing of the purge gas for portions of test gas and/or gas such as oxygen. The first set of means enable a pressure to build up in the space (12) which is less than the pressure inside the isolation space (11) and is optionally greater than the pressure inside a operating space (13) optionally located on the side of the body.
