Abstract:

The inventive device for machining articles in the form of rotational bodies comprises a carriage (1) provided with a sliding guide (2), a spindle unit fixed to the carriage and comprising the coaxially arranged spindle (3) and milling tool (4) provided with a drive. Said spindle unit is arranged in such a way that it is possible to spatially modify the orientation of the axis of rotation of the milling tool within a range mainly of 3-9 degrees with respect to the sliding guide in two orthogonal planes and to fix said axis. The carriage (1) is embodied in the form of a balancer provided with regulated counterweights (21) in order to preserve the centre-of-gravity position of the device. A tracer pin (13) is arranged on the balancer (1) in such a way that the spindle unit is cinematically connected to a follower (14). The milling tool (4) is embodied in the form of a flat disc having a conical generatrix and trapezoidal teeth whose two sides are coupled at a sharp angle in such a way that an additional cutting blade having a greater diameter is formed on the side of the disc. The machining is carried out simultaneously by a narrow front edge and the long cutting blade at small angles in relation to the generatrix, thereby making it possible to increase the speed of the milling tool, essentially accelerate the machining of long billets and produce profiled slight curved surfaces.
