Abstract:
The present invention provides a battery diagnosis device for determining a type of an error which has occurred in a battery cell, on the basis of a voltage of the battery cell. The battery diagnosis device comprises a voltage measurement circuit, a data processing circuit, and a diagnosis circuit. The voltage measurement circuit periodically measures voltages at opposite ends of the battery cell in a rest period. The data processing circuit derives a statistic value indicating the state of the battery cell on the basis of difference values between voltage values measured by the voltage measurement circuit and approximate values calculated on the basis of the measured voltage values. The diagnosis circuit determines whether an error has occurred in the battery cell, on the basis statistic values in multiple rest periods, and determines whether the type of the error corresponds to a first type in which the battery cell is unstable, a second type in which the voltage of the battery cell temporarily increases, or a third type in which the voltage of the battery cell temporarily decreases, on the basis of an accumulated statistic value corresponding to accumulation of absolute values of the statistic values and the statistic value in the rest period. The multiple rest periods comprise a rest period and one or more rest periods before the rest period.
