Abstract:

The present invention provides a method for inspecting a raised-strand state in a web member in a sanitary article. On at least one surface of the web member are disposed portions in which strands can rise once the portions have been peeled from the one surface, the portions being dispersed in a predetermined layout pattern. A new exposed portion is created on the one surface once the portions having raisable strands are peeled away and the strands rise. The inspection device has an imaging processor for imaging the one surface and generating data representing the planar image of the one surface as planar image data, a binarizing processor for performing binarization so that a region in which the newly exposed portion in the planar image is imaged is included in an image specified by one of the two values in a binarized image when the binarized image is generated on the basis of the planar image data, and a defective/non-defective determination processor for determining whether the raised state is defective or not defective on the basis of the value representing the size of the image.
