The invention relates to a device for introducing at least one planar structure during the stacking of goods onto a pallet, said stack of goods comprising several stacked layers and to a method for palleting a stack of goods comprising a pallet and layers (2) of objects (3) that are stacked on the latter and are separated by at least one intermediate base (9). A sub-section (12a) of at least one planar structure (12), on which information is contained, is introduced between a layer and an intermediate base during the palleting process in such a way that once the complete layer has been deposited on the intermediate base lying below or once the intermediate base has been laid on the layer lying below, the introduced sub-section (12a) of the planar structure is secured and the region of the planar structure (12b) that is provided with information is legible from the exterior.
