Abstract:
Provided are an observation device and observation method with which it is possible to observe both a blood vessel model and a fluoroscopic image of a catheter inserted into the blood vessel model at the same time without using X-rays. This blood vessel model observation device comprises a light source for emitting near-infrared rays, a light intensity adjusting device for adjusting the light intensity of near-infrared rays, a camera, and a display for displaying an image captured by the camera, the device serving to observe the shape of a blood vessel model and a catheter inserted into the blood vessel model, wherein a substance having near-infrared absorption characteristics different from the material constituting the blood vessel model is disposed inside the blood vessel model; and the catheter includes a sheath and wires inserted into the sheath.
