Abstract:
The present technology pertains to a device and a method for processing information, and a program which are capable of estimating a photographed position and a photographing attitude under a wider range of conditions. According to the present invention, a position attitude calculating unit calculates, on the basis of two photographed images having five or more mutually corresponding characteristics, a photographed position and a photographing attitude of a photographed image to be processed, relative to a known photographed position and a known photographing attitude of the other photographed image in a reference space. The position attitude calculating unit further calculates a photographed position and a photographing attitude, in the reference space, of the photographed image to be processed, on the basis of: the position of a subject, in the reference space, corresponding to a characteristic common among the two photographed images and a different photographed image the photographed position and the photographing attitude of which are known; and the photographed position and the photographing attitude of the photographed image to be processed, relative to the known photographed position and the known photographing attitude of the other photographed image. The present technology is applicable to smartphones.
