Abstract:
The end shape of an annular precured tread which is bonded to a tire casing is made to be easily changeable and is formed according to the shape of the tire casing.
After an annular unvulcanized tread (71) is formed by laminating a rubber strip on a rigid core (2), the unvulcanized tread (71) is contained in a vulcanization mold (40) along with the rigid core (2), and then the unvulcanized tread (71) is vulcanized by a vulcanizer (30), thus forming a precured tread. At the position of the vulcanization mold (40) touching the end of the unvulcanized tread (71), removable annular molds (41A, 42A) for the end which define the end shape of the precured tread are provided. The molds (41A, 42A) for the end are replaced previously according to the side shape of the tire casing, the end shape of the precured tread is formed according to the shape of the tire casing at the bonding position, and then the molds and the tread are combined with no level difference.
