Abstract:
The utility model relates to the field of agriculture, and more particularly to rapid analyzers for quickly (within a matter of seconds) and indirectly measuring the amount of total (gross) nitrogen contained in the leaves of a plant as an indicator of the nitrogen status of said plant and the need for nitrogen supplementation using fertilizers. The technical result consists in more accurately determining whether a plant requires mineral feeding and, in particular, nitrogen. This technical result is achieved in that a device for rapidly assessing the nitrogen status of plants includes a housing, a photometric sensor, an electronic computing assembly which receives a signal from said photometric sensor, and a display and a control button arranged on the housing and being connected to the electronic computing assembly, wherein the photometric sensor is capable of measuring the red, green and near-infrared spectrum, and the electronic computing assembly comprises a unit for calculating chlorophyll content on the basis of the ratio of the amounts of light absorption in the three parts of the spectrum, i.e. red, green and near infrared, a unit for determining the confidence interval of the measured amounts, and a unit for calculating a plant mineral feeding/nitrogen requirement index, which is connected to the unit for calculating chlorophyll content and to the unit for determining the confidence interval of the measured amounts.
